A revolutionary wine. Matias Michelini comes from top winemaking lineage and has worked in some of the country's leading wineries, but with this he's turning Argentine wine on its head. The grape is Bonarda, actually originally from Savoie in France and called Douce Noire, but now heavily planted in Argentina and a bit in California (where it's called Charbono). In fact, there used to be more Bonarda knocking around than Malbec. Grown 1,350 metres up in the Uco Valley. Carbonically macerated, like in Beaujolais, resulting in fruity, lower tannin wine. Lip-smackingly juicy, big aromas of raspberries and strawberries and ripe red cherries. It's an utter joy!
