Titiana Pansa Blanca Cava Brut 2013
This gorgeous vintage Cava hails from the tiny region of Alella, just outside Barcelona. It is made from the unique local grape, Pansa Blanca, itself a clone of better-known Xarello (mainstay of most Cava). Fermentation in oak barrels, making this a creamy and rich bubbly. Big fruit flavours of pears and citrus, alongside Pansa Blanca's herbaceousness and nutty characters, with that toasty flavour you get from the traditional method bringing everything together. A barnstormer of a Cava, its previous 2011 vintage rated by Susie Barrie MW in Decanter as the best available in Britain under £25.
