La Bonne Franquette is a French idiom that's difficult to translate, but broadly means "informal" in a homely fashion. So you might say, on a mangé à la bonne franquetteif you're just gathering around the kitchen table with a rustic dinner and a properly good, authentic, easygoing bottle of wine. Winemaker Silas Marcellin trained in Bordeaux and New Zealand before returning to farm with his brother Médéric the vines planted by their mother in 2003. Sustainably grown, soft touch. This is Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard & Petit Manseng, the latter from barrel. Flavours are clean citrus, with elevated acidity, and intriguing minerally edges.
