Frey Riesling Feinherb 2019
The Frey winery has been located in the heart of the village of Ober-Flörsheim for four generations. This is the highest settlement in the south-west of Rheinhessen, Germany's most productive wine region.
Philipp and Christopher Frey (pictured) are the younger generation and they have taken charge alongside their father Stefan, tending 23 hectares of organic vines.
Feinherb typically refers to a Riesling being 'half dry' or halbtrocken. The modicum of sweetness here is beautifully balanced by bright acidity, making for an elegant, floral nose and easygoing drinking style. Vibrant to drink, it's fresh apple, pear and citrus flavours would go great with milder cheese and seafood dishes.
