Domaine des Gandines Mâcon-Villages 2018
Domaine des Gandines is in the middle of the Mâconnais, created around an exceptional vineyard by Joseph Dananchet in 1925. Fifty-four years later, his grandson Robert began farming organically and increased his holdings from 1.5 hectares to eight.
Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted at the winery. Wild fermentation is controlled at low temperatures. Some malolactic fermentation takes place but in a controlled manner, lending restrained richness to the wine, which is then aged on the lees for six months before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
Their Mâcon-Villages is lovely with citrus and salty notes, expressing all the character of a great Mâcon Chardonnay with aroma of fresh flowers and ripe fruit.
