Domaine des Gandines Mâcon-Villages 2018
Domaine des Gandines is in the middle of the Mâconnais region, created by Joseph Dananchet in 1925 on an exceptional vineyard. In 1979, his grandson Robert began farming organically and increased his holdings from 1.5 hectares to eight.
Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted at the winery. Wild fermentation is controlled at low temperatures. Some malolactic fermentation takes place but in a controlled manner, lending restrained richness to the wine, which is then aged on the lees for six months before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
It's lovely with citrus and salty notes, expressing all the character of a great Mâcon Chardonnay with aroma of fresh flowers and ripe fruit.
