Diwald Maischegärung Zündstoff Riesling 2016
Now for something a bit different. Young winemaker Martin Diwald comes from a pioneering family of organic winegrowers in Wagram (making organic wine since 1980) and this is his second orange wine, trying his hand at Riesling after a first triumphant attempt with Grüner Veltliner. Wild ferment in open tanks and 7 days on skins. Pressed and matured in acacia barrel. Unfined and unfiltered, minimal added sulphur (just 10 ppm). Aromas of hay, herbs and bitter citrus, it's long and thoughtful. Bravo Martin! Keep up the good work!
