Now for something a bit different. Young winemaker Martin Diwald comes from a pioneering family of organic winegrowers in Wagram (making organic wine since 1980) and this is his extraordinary orange Grüner Veltliner. Wild ferment in open tanks and 7 days on skins. Pressed and matured in acacia barrel. Unfined and unfiltered, minimal added sulphur (just 10 ppm). Aromas of hay, herbs and bitter citrus, it's long and thoughtful.
