Olivier Cazenave is the most radical winegrower in Bordeaux. Multi-vintage bottlings, biodynamic farming, avant-garde packaging...in so many ways Olivier is re-imagining what is possible in this historic French wine region.
This is something really different: a Vin de France multi-vintage Muscadelle (though mostly from 2013). You rarely see Muscadelle appearing as anything other than a tiny supporting role in Bordeaux, typically for dessert wines like Sauternes or Barsac. Here it's super-aromatic: floral, mineral, toasty, spicy. Loads of layers to it, glimpses of the whites of Jura even. Textured, structured and really, really long. Mindblowing with a cheese board.
