Bellwether Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Sue Bell was voted Australian Society of Viticulture & Oenology Winemaker of the Year in 2014, and her negociant-style micro-winery in Coonawarra works with grapes sourced from passionate growers in diverse regions of Australia.
We're known for hunting curiosities, rare grapes, the square pegs in round holes. But we also know an unmissable wine when we find one, and this is it. Coonawarra Cabernet is one of the iconic wines of Australia, grown in famous terra rossa soils along the World Heritage listed Limestone Coast. Complex, structured, long-lived.
Grapes for this wine are grown by Mike & Brent Wetherall, hand-picked and fermented naturally in tight-grain French oak barrels, only a tiny proportion new. All makes for a magnificent, memorable wine: deep blackcurrant fruit, mint, tobacco, spice and intense, lingering finish.
