'The House' case of reds does what it says on the tin. Or cardboard box. Anyway... it gives you 6 jolly good reds from among our bestselling wines, all tried & tested over time and shipped direct from the producers themselves.

And if bought in our mixed case you get 16% off the full price. Here are your wines.

The Cape Town Wine Co. Red is a 'Bordeaux blend' of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc from vineyards around the city of Cape Town itself. If you're a lover of old-school claret, you'll love this.

Speaking of claret... actually no, Château Laballe Les Terres Basses Rouge isn't a claret but it is French and it does contain Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot yet led by bold, black-fruited Tannat. The Laudets have been farming this Gascon vineyard for centuries - now in conversion to biodynamic viticulture - and Cyril has made one of our favourite reds of the year.

Going to Portgal, Convento da Vila Tinto is a typical Alentejano blend (Tinta Roriz, Castelão, Touriga Franca & Touriga Nacional) and a warming, ripe, mellow drinker.

Heading to Spain, Bodegas Nekeas Tinto Joven is an unoaked Tempranillo & Garnacha (aka Grenache) from the high-altitude vineyards of Navarra that tells you all you need to know about why this overlooked area shouldn't be so overlooked.

Going west to Bierzo and Armas de Guerra is one of the oldest wineries operating in Spain. Here in cooler, more temperate climes they make gorgeous Mencía, the star local grape, that is similar in many ways to Cabernet Franc with bright, crunchy fruit flavours and herbaceous notes.

Rounding off the case, from Emilia-Romagna in Italy, Dado è Tratto Rosso is a Rubicone red blend of Sangiovese, Merlot & Ciliegiolo that's soft, easygoing and delicious, and even comes with a Julius Caesar history lesson to boot. Partly in Latin.

[Golden squirrel nutcracker and book not included, but don't forget you do earn Squirrel Points for every pound you spend, which you can redeem on more wine and in the long run save up for household essentials like golden squirrel nutcrackers.]
