A&D Wines is a family-owned company in Baião in the south-east of the Vinho Verde wine region. They farm a small collection of their own vineyards ranging from 200 to 500 metres above sea level, all of them organic.
You don't see much pink Vinho Verde, certainly not compared to the white wines, but they're really worth your trying. The cooler maritime climate in the Minho region allows for longer growing seasons and good acidity, resulting in lighter, aromatic, fresh wines.
This is a blend of two classic Portuguese grapes: Touriga Nacional and Vinhão, the latter a speciality of the region. It is dry, crisp to drink and brightly fruity.
