Len de l'El

You've got to love a grape whose name means "far from the eye". Len de l'El, or in modern French Loin de l'Oeil, gets its name from the fact the grape bunches hang a long way from the buds. It is native to Gaillac in south-west France and is often blended with other local varieties like Mauzac but can take a starring role in the right hands and under the right conditions.
