Primarily grown on the Somló volcano in Hungary, this is a distinctive grape: rare with unique flavours - full and rich with honey, baked apples and often a striking minerality. It's name is fun too. Juhfark means "sheep tail" in Hungarian and supposedly that's what the grape bunch resembles.
A centuries-old rumour claims Juhfark wine increased your chances of conceiving a male child, hence emperors traditionally drank Somló wines on their wedding night. There is no evidence to prove this, of course!
