Bruna Pigato Majé 2017
Dainty, crisp Majé is Francesca and Roberto's lightest Pigato from a selection of their tiny plots around the clay soils of the Garaxin hill, 250 metres above sea level, and with that herbal, seasidy perfume of proper Pigato. Vines are farmed organically on traditional steep terraces known as majé. Naturally fermented and aged on fine lees in old neutral barrels for 6 months. There's nothing quite as good with seafood as Ligurian Pigato, or local Genovese pesto. An utterly charming wine from utterly charming people. It was Francesca's father who revived Pigato in the 1970s, and his daughter and son-in-law are continuing a proud legacy.
