Eschenhof Holzer Wagram Zweigelt 2017
Bring us summer and picnics, Austrian Zweigelt and all things nice. Whether you chill it or not, this is an awesome drop by young Arnold Holzer, like fresh summer pudding and black pepper in a glass. Zweigelt is a crossing of Austrian grapes Sankt Laurent and Blaufränkisch, and the most widely planted red grape in the country. This is from Arnold's vineyards around his home town of Grossriendthal, in the heart of Wagram.
"Eschenhof Holzer Wagram Zweigelt 2015 slices through the moment with red cherry deliciousness. In fact, it was this shining star that confirmed Zweigelt as my go-to red grape this autumn, with its spicy red fruit flourish." - Olly Smith, Mail on Sunday, 1st October 2017.
