Bruna Bansigu Rosso 2017
Bansigu means "swing" in the local dialect, and this wine - the label scribbled by Roberto and Francesca's children - is intended to be just as lively, bouncy and playful as them. The local Grenache clone is the mainstay, always at least 70 per cent of the blend, joined by native Rossese, Barbera and a smidgen of Cinsault, then a potpourri field blend of unidentified grapes. Everything hand-picked from organically farmed vines on rocky soils, no oak, just flavours of wild roses, strawberry bushes, plums, raspberries and earth. Always a bundle of joy.
