Arneis
This ancient Piemontese variety is the "little rascal" of grapes, literally. Arneis is so-called because it's a tricky thing to grow hence its falling out of popularity come the 1970s. However, get it right and it's worth it. There's been a mini revival since then but it's still relatively rare in its homeland, with pockets of excellence overseas, especially in Victoria in Australia.
